Therapeutic Abortion

 

Aims: This topic is very important for the nation and world and is something that all of us are going to face sooner or later in our professional future like midwifes, because is a topic of interest at the social level, ethical and human rights, and we can reflect on how important it can be for the mother  take this desicion and how it affects society in this.

Methods:Through an investigation of the clinical history of women during pregnancy is estimated that each year 46 million women around the world turn to abortion to end an unwanted pregnancy .Of those, at least 20 million are considered unsafe abortions. In Chile there are 40,000 abortions a year and the rate is 50 abortions per thousand women of childbearing age.

Results: Is practiced when there are risks in life or health of women, or when the fetus has no chance of survival outside the womb. the method more important is Dilation and suction curettage.

Possible complications:

-Incomplete procedure
-Bleeding
-Infection
-Injury to the cervix
-Reaction to anesthesia.


Conclusions: the importance of this topic is a look at the ethic and moral behind the act of the therapeutic abortion because in Chile is penalized like Nicaragua, Salvador, Island Mallow and is necessary to create a law that protects those frustrated mothers to not suffer during pregnancy and should be a law in favor of therapeutic abortion, and  we can reflect about the benefits that this subject can give to our country.

Therapeutic Abortion

Aim: Therapeutic abortion is a topic of interest at the social level, ethical and human rights of concern to women can not have a proper pregnancy and the fetus is not viable and the women can not decide whether to continue with pregnancy.
This topic is very important for my future professional because I can reflect on how important it can be for the mother  take this desicion and how it affects society in this.

Purpose: Therapeutic abortion is caused with the intent to remove the fetus, with or without medical assistance. 

Methods/materials/subjects/procedures: Is practiced when there are risks in life or health of women, or when the fetus has no chance of survival outside the womb. Some complications can be excessive blood loss, uterine perforation and infection., etc.

Conclusions: Currently the therapeutic abortion in Chile is penalized is necessary to create a law that protects those frustrated mothers.

Hi !my name is Nicole Lagos, I am twenty years old,  I live in Santiago in the town of Puente Alto, now I study midwifery in the University of Chile, because is a course that demands vocation and helps the community to have a better health especially women and childrens.

I live with my parents and my brother who is thirteen years old. However all my family lives in curico city. 
I have a pet, is a dog called "Osito", because is like a teddy bear.

Into my hobbies I like go to the cinema with my friends to watch horror movies, and play volleyball some weekends,I love to read because I enjoy, and some weekends I go to the curico to visit to my family with my parents and my brother.
My favourite food is a chinesse food, sushi and brownie, but the chilean food also I like.

I like listen to music as : romantic, pop and rock music.


I like playing the drums but I haven´t had the chance to play since january cause I don´t have time, and I love cooking to my family especially cakes or desserts because I feel relaxed.
